What is Lipoedema?
Lipoedema is a chronic condition mainly affecting women, which is an overproduction of fatty tissue in any limb or combination of limbs, often mistaken for obesity or lymphoedema. Examples of symptoms include pain and limb shape distortion.
MLD facilitates lymphatic circulation, mitigates oedema, alleviates pain, and enhances tissue integrity and mobility. Also used after lipoedema surgery to promote healing and recovery as a post operative package including compression measuring and advice.
What is the role of MLD in Post Surgical care?
MLD enhances lymphatic flow, reduces post-surgical oedema, accelerates healing, minimizes fibrosis, and supports optimal tissue recovery and comfort.
MLD is often integrated into goal-staged treatment plans, especially in post-operative and lymphatic care.
